Dance moves the soul and engages thought provoking change. That’s what we’ve done here for ten years at the Dayton dance workshop and it all started here!
Since 2010 when we started cultivating dance for families and our first premier performance in 2011 The Dayton Dance Workshop has changed the lives of 100s of new artists in performing arts and moved over 30,000+ lives during our productions and performances.
“When I began this journey almost ten years ago, I realized that I could provide an environment of creative excellence in the performing arts for dancers and families who were like me.” says Thomas L. Troutman, the 27-year-old Founder and Artistic Director of The Dayton Dance Workshop Inc.
Troutman is a singer/songwriter, dancer, actor, and producer; as well as a speaker, teacher, and an expert in the area of performing arts and live event production. He is a product and former company member of the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC), and original principle dancer and rehearsal director of Revolution Dance Theatre (Cincinnati, Ohio).
The Benefit Gala for the Arts is happening Saturday April 4, 2020 7:00pm at Dayton Convention Center and will showcase the work of DDW Inc. over the last decade in the Miami Valley, and where the organization is heading in 2020. The event will also host A-List special guests including Keynote speaker Patrick W. Brown, the son and Protégé of World-Renowned Motivational Life Coach Les Brown, live music by The Deron Bell band, and dance performances by Revolution Dance Theatre (Cincinnati, Ohio) and of course the organizations dance ensemble.
“Our families leave The Dayton Dance Workshop Inc. with seeds planted, watered, and harvested with our core values irrevocably severing them in their accomplishments. With this Gala event, we want to raise awareness about our organization, invite new students and families to find the place in the arts, and gain the trust of new supporters.” - Thomas L. Troutman
To commemorate this celebratory season, DDW invites you to our benefit gala for the arts! Enjoy a dinner, performances by the dance ensemble, special guest speakers, and live music by The Deron Bell Band.
