Our first concert of this 30th anniversary season is entitled Through Time and Space. It feature works that explore the inner restlessness which compels us to move forward, venturing into new places. The program will include Dark Night of the Soul by Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo, The Turtledove by Ralph Vaughan Williams, as well as a choral transcription of a song by Gustav Mahler, Die Zwei Blauen Auge. Local Dayton composer Bryan Sharpe is highlighted with his beautiful setting of the text by Paul Laurence Dunbar, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. In addition, we’ll perform some lighter concert fare like the madrigal, Fair Phyllis, and The Long and Winding Road by Lennon and McCartney.
