Lebanon, OH –From August 12 through September 1 adult fitness classes are free at the Lebanon and Landen Countryside YMCA locations. With five fitness studios – including a designated yoga and pilate studio and a designated spin studio – now is a great time to explore the Y. Waterfit classes are also free at the Lebanon location during these dates.
With hundreds of programs offered annually, there’s always something to try. The Y offers classes for beginners, as well as classes for those with an established workout routine. “This is a chance for members to try something different for free. And potential members can also come into the Y these weeks and try our fitness classes,” said Jasmine Lee Countryside YMCA Director of Health and Wellness.
The Y offers Pilates, Yoga, Barre®, Zumba®, Cycle Spin, Cardio Kick Boot Camp, and more. For example, you can also try Crossfit Superfly, a partener with the Y, at their Lebanon or Deerfield Township locations. "We are always looking for the latest and greatest equipment and programs to offer our members while also giving them opportunities to connect with others, " said Zach McCollum, Executive Director of Programs at the Y.
For those who want something different from a studio fitness class, these weeks are a great time to try waterfit. “A lot of people don’t realize that you can burn up to 600 calories in a waterfit class, and it is a lot easier on your joints,” said WaterFit Coordinator Laura Roble.
Not sure where to start? Plan to meet our Member Coaches on Tuesday, August 20 from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm or Wednesday, August 21 from 10:30 am until Noon. New members can participate in complimentary Member Coaching, a one-on-one coaching experience which helps new members come up with a personalized wellness plan that fits their goals, interests, and lifestyle. This is followed by periodic check-ins and provides the guidance and support needed for new members to get the most of their membership. Member Coach Elizabeth Doubet said, “New members and their families are important to us. Countryside YMCA is a big place, and we love to work with members to make the Y a little smaller and more accessable.”
“We work every day to improve the wellbeing of people in our community by providing resources and guidance to improve physical activity, health and wellness,” said Chris Johnson Countryside YMCA CEO. “Offering free fitness classes is just one more way to to empower people in their efforts toward healthy living,” he added.
