Hughes Family Annual Reunion Show, In Memory of Gordon & Betty Hughes
Featuring Watercolor Paintings by Frank Martindell
The Hughes Family Annual Reunion Show can be viewed in our Main Exhibition Hall from August 27th, 2020 - September 24th, 2020
Frank Martindell's wonderful watercolors are painted in the traditional watercolor style. He considered himself basically a landscape artist. Frank was a fixture at MAC for many years, first taking classes from nationally known painter and his mentor, Homer Hacker. He then instructed beginning and intermediate watercolor classes for 24 years, and was content in the knowledge that he was passing on this classic manner of painting. His long-time, dedicated students became a family as well as friends.
Frank's painting philosophy was contained in his statement, "I enjoy teaching and encouraging people who want to paint (but often are sure that they can't) because I feel that with some careful instruction in the basic technologies of watercolor, hard work on their part, encouragement, and sometimes a little luck they can be successful."
REMINDER: Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic we have very specific regulations in place to view the exhibition. Those viewing the exhibition must wear a mask when entering the MAC. We also request that everyone abide by social distancing guidelines while visiting us. We appreciate your support as we navigate our current environment during the pandemic. Thank you!
