Conflicts, Culture and Your Personal Style

We’re often called to manage and address conflict in our workplaces with team members, colleagues and even clients. While we strive to do so with professionalism, its often a challenge to ensure consistency with the organizational culture as well as our own personal style. This morning we’ll define our desired culture, explore our personal conflict style and support each other with ideas for managing conflict professionally and authentically.

Speaker: Christy Mauch

Christy Mauch is Vice President of Operations with your Better Business Bureau. Christy has worked with dispute resolution while at your BBB for 18 years. She also manages a variety of programs of which further promote integrity in the marketplace. In addition to her experience in dispute resolution, Christy also teaches communications, part-time, at Sinclair Community College where students explore effective communication and conflict management strategies.

Having grown up in the Dayton area, Christy enjoys engaging in local community initiatives. She initiated BBB’s partnership with the award winning Miami Valley Nonprofit Collaborative. She is also chairperson of Wright State University’s Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Community Council as well as serves on the AAF-Dayton Board of Directors. As animal welfare is a personal passion, she serves as Secretary on the Board of Trustees with the Humane Society of Greater Dayton.

In addition, Christy is one of the 2014 Dayton Business Journal 40 Under 40 award recipients and a 2010 graduate of Leadership Dayton. Christy holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in communications from Bowling Green State University and the University of Dayton.
